This service provides professional support and guidance on reducing light pollution and improving the energy efficiency of lighting installations.<br>The primary mission of the consultant is the development of an action plan to reduce light pollution. This includes initiating, coordinating, implementing, monitoring and documenting measures, as well as offering advice, support and oversight for private and public infrastructure projects.<br>Additional responsibilities include preparing information materials, providing training sessions and raising public awareness of light pollution.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"type-numerotation\"><span class=\"type-numerotation-span visually-hidden\"><\/span>Project implementation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carry out an initial assessment of the site\u2019s potential (see info box).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtain technical advice and cost estimates from qualified experts for measures such as the replacement of outdated lighting fixtures, adjustment of lighting parameters (e.g. colour temperature ideally below 3000 K, dimming options), installation of motion sensors or time switches, or the improvement of light direction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-light-green-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assessment of potential cost reductions and protection of nocturnal wildlife<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Where can motion sensors or timers be implemented?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where is a switch to LED lighting feasible?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where could illuminated advertising be optimised?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checklist according to the principle \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mondorf-les-bains.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/DG-Beleuchtung-von-Gewerbe-und-Industriegebieten.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" exceeded?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is the light distribution limited to the necessary minimum?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is lighting managed according on need (e.g. safety lighting based on operating hours, motion controlled lighting)?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is illuminated advertising sharply contoured, and is the night time curfew respected?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2022 For self illuminated advertising systems: is luminance limited, and is the night time curfew respected?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have the lowest possible mounting heights been considered to minimise long distance glare?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are quality checks carried out to verify illuminance levels?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are uplights (Decorative ground-mounted spotlights that direct the light upwards) and unnecessary lighting of peripheral green structures avoided?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"type-numerotation\"><span class=\"type-numerotation-span visually-hidden\"><\/span>Follow up <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Measure the reduction in electricity consumption and gather feedback from employees and customers regarding perceived comfort and safety.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Document the lighting situation using a before and after comparison and communicate the resulting improvements internally (employees) and externally (customers,
