The heat recovered from the condensers of the refrigeration units is used to heat domestic hot water. It is a refrigeration cycle that works by drawing heat from the evaporator and discharging it to the outside (condenser). The idea behind the project involves recovering this waste heat to preheat domestic hot water (DHW).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This technology is suitable for food businesses with refrigeration units (cold rooms, refrigerated units, air conditioning, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By installing this technology, which has been available on the market for more than 5 years, the company can save on its electricity bills and reduce its carbon footprint. However, implementing this measure can be complex with a medium-to-long-term return on investment, and requires the temporary shutdown of production during the technical installation stage<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
The exchanger is placed between the compressor and the condenser of the cooling unit. In practice, recovery can be implemented in three different ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The estimated energy savings for DHW are almost 100%, as it is no longer necessary to purchase power. The impact on the carbon footprint will also vary in intensity depending on the initial method used to produce domestic hot water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure that the \u2018incentive effect\u2019 is respected, no binding commitment (signing a quotation; paying an advance) may be made BEFORE submitting the application file or receiving the agreement in principle from the State or the electricity and natural gas supplier following an application for subsidies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

This aid supports investments aimed at improving energy efficiency outside buildings. It is intended for initiatives that either reduce energy consumption by at least 20% or achieve energy savings of at least 250 MWh per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
