Aid for SMEs for investment in charging infrastructure

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)s with plans to deploy or expand private charging infrastructure may benefit from a new investment aid. Applications for the subsidy must be submitted online via myGuichet.lu before the 30th of September 2026.

Who is eligible for the subsidies?

Any small and medium-sized business which are legally established in Luxembourg and comply with the terms and conditions that apply. The charging infrastructure to which the aid application pertains must satisfy the following criteria. It must:

  • be powered:
    • fully by renewable electricity only, as defined by law;
    • if located on public or private property owned by the State or communal authorities: be powered under the terms of renewable electricity purchase agreements as defined by law, entered into with renewable electricity producers;
  • remain operational for at least 5 years from the time it is brought into service;
  • not be intended for resale or rental, with the exception of lease agreements that provide for the lessee to purchase the infrastructure at the end of the agreement;

Each company can only submit one subsidy application per year and per project, no later than the 30th of September 2026.

Once the subsidy has been granted, the charging infrastructure must be brought into service within 18 months.

Maximum amount of financial aid

The amount of the aid is calculated based on the eligible project costs.

For each project, the maximum intensity of the aid is:

  • for a medium-sized enterprise: 40% of eligible costs;
  • for a small enterprise: 50% of eligible costs.

The total amount of the aid granted to any one company may not exceed EUR 100,000.

Please note: The subsidy must have an incentive effect. This means that applications must be submitted prior to any quotation being signed or the commencement of any work.
