The Ministry of Economy is launching its first call for projects dedicated to zero-emission heavy commercial vehicles. This new scheme aims to support businesses in decarbonising their fleets by covering part or all of the cost difference between a zero-emission vehicle and an equivalent model with a combustion engine.
Up to €10 million for N2 and N3 category vehicles
With a budget of €10 million, the call for projects concerns:
- N2 category vehicles (3.5 to 12 tonnes)
- N3 category vehicles (over 12 tonnes)
Eligible vehicles include electric lorries, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, vehicles equipped with a hydrogen combustion engine, and the conversion of combustion engine vehicles to zero-emission vehicles. The scheme is designed to be technologically neutral.
The aid can cover up to 100% of eligible costs (the difference in investment between a zero-emission vehicle and a comparable conventional vehicle).
At the same time, a specific aid scheme for SMEs provides support of up to 60% for small businesses and 50% for medium-sized businesses, limited to five vehicles and a ceiling of €300,000.
A call for projects for charging infrastructure dedicated to heavy commercial vehicles is also underway, with a subsidy of up to 70% of the investment.
Companies can benefit from free support from Luxinnovation to structure their decarbonisation project.
