Improving social responsibility within your company
Corporate social responsibility (responsabilité sociale des entreprises – RSE) is a voluntary approach that reflects the integration of social and environmental concerns within a company. These approaches range from compliance with environmental standards and quality of life at work, to the management of social issues and the sustainable transformation of business plans.
Investing in RSE also stimulates innovation. Improving environmental and social performance can be a lever to reduce costs and improve quality at work, thereby also improving the company’s image. A company that demonstrates its commitment to sustainable and social development inspires greater confidence, fosters customer loyalty, and can even strengthen its competitiveness. Preparing your company for RSE also means helping it to prepare for future sustainability reporting requirements imposed by the European directive (CSRD).
Defining and analysing the company’s needs
Identify the expectations of the company and its employees, and develop a RSE strategy that creates shared value for your business, with the help of the Chamber of Commerce or Chambre des Métiers.
Apply for support from the RSE Starter Kit and for government assistance (as indicated below).
Implementation of the RSE Toolbox from the RSE Starter Kit
Enter your company’s data to carry out an assessment of the various topics.
Receive a summary report and a maturity assessment table aligned with the ESR label reference framework, and have the results analysed over 3.5 days by an expert.
Participate in workshops between the expert and company employees to inform, raise awareness, validate the assessment, and then explain the recommendations and measures to be implemented.
Integrate the essential principles of RSE to improve decision-making and stakeholder management.
Implement a responsible HR strategy, fostering a caring and fair approach towards your employees throughout their careers.
Develop an eco-responsible value chain to increase the efficiency of your activities and limit environmental impacts.
Subsidy application
Government subsdies
Please note: any application for government or non-government subsidies must comply with the “incentive effect”, subject to compliance with the subsidy conditions.
In order to comply with the incentive effect, no binding commitment (signing a quote; paying a deposit) may be made BEFORE submitting the application file or receiving the agreement in principle from the government or the electricity and natural gas supplier following a subsidy application.
A lump sum grant of €5,000 for SMEs to reimburse the RSE Starter Kit programme: including access to the “RSE Toolbox” digital platform to carry out an assessment of the company and a 3.5-day consultation with an INDR-approved expert to identify any gaps or areas for improvement and make recommendations for a company-specific RSE strategy.
Certification fees are adjusted according to the size of the company, and the government subsidy covers 50% of the costs associated with initial ESR certification (including certification fees, verification costs and consulting services provided by an approved expert).
After completing the “RSE Starter Kit”, the company will have reached the necessary maturity to begin the process of obtaining an ESR label. This enables company managers to structure, formalise, and promote their RSE commitments. The main criteria, offering numerous competitive advantages, are mobilising energy, confirming responsibility, strengthening trust and credibility, ensuring transparency and meeting the ESG requirements of calls for tenders.
In this process, an INDR advisor guides the company step by step in the creation of a reference document, an online self-assessment and an action plan. They offer recommendations for practical tools and solutions, tailor-made training, independent verification by an approved expert, as well as promotion through this label for three years and a communication pack to continue promoting the company’s responsible positioning.
Establishing a communication strategy
If the company decides to obtain the ESR label, it will be able to:
Use the ESR – Responsible Company logo
Promote its approach through a video or article on the indr.lu website
