Analysis of requirements
The new AFIR regulations (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation) have been in effect since the 13th of April 2024. This mandates all new charging stations, among other things, to accept payment via credit card or other electronic payment methods, so that users can charge their car without needing the provider’s specific charging card. Additionally, users must be transparently informed about the price. This also applies to stations that businesses provide for their visitors. Here are further details on these regulations.
